My Setup on Ubuntu machine
This is how I setup my Ubuntu for personal use
Vietnamese #
- Add new language: Vietnamese
- Install ibus-bamboo: Vietnamese input method
- Add keyboard layout: Vietnamese (Unikey)
- Turn on setting: Switch input sources individually for each window
Terminal #
- Install zsh
- Install oh-my-zsh
- Configure oh-my-zsh
Git #
- Install git
- Configure GitHub SSH key
- Generate an assymetric key pair
- Add the public key to Github
- Start ssh-agent (if not already), and ssh-add the private key to the SSH agent
Neovim #
- Install neovim: latest package from their GitHub.
- Configure neovim:
- Configure the
~/.config/nvim/init.vimfile - Add new configuration for each language/workplace (ror, react-ts, …)
- Swap configurations and reload neovim to use other configuration
- Configure the
- Install vim-plug and install plugins
- Install tmux
- Configure tmux in
~/.tmux.conf
Utilities #
- Install Chrome: for smoother scrolling (still keep Firefox)
- Install Okular: for better PDF viewer
- Install Burp Suite Community: for intercepting HTTP requests/responses
- Install GIMP: for complete image editing
- Install Oracle Virtual Box: for using virtual machines
- Install Simple Screen Recorder: for screen recording
- Install Kdenlive: for video editing
- Install wxHexEditor: for hex dump
- Install wine: play osu!
- Import Chrome bookmarks backup
- Install Kumorebi: for live wallpaper engine
- Install Ubuntu themes: Qogir, WhiteSur, yaru-remix
- Install fonts: Caligraphy, cartoon, …
